AFTERNOON RIDE OUT ![]()
Neil Crofts Afternoon ride round Olivers Mount Race Circuit. (only 5 minutes from Cayton Bay)
Olivers Mount is probably the only true road racing circuit left on mainland Britain and dates back to 1946. It is the home to the Spring National, Cock O' the North and Gold Cup race meetings, plus it is central to Scarborough Bike week.
The run will take place on Sunday afternoon after the ride out. I anticipate this being at about 4.00pm to enable those who have been out to have a bit of lunch.
I intend to take a group of riders up to the circuit and do a short presentation before setting off on a SEDATE ride round the track, possibly with another stop half way round. Please bear in mind that the track is part of the public highway and is subject to a 30mph speed limit.
