The evening GoldWing Light Parade is the main attraction of the weekend taking place on Saturday 8th September 2012 at 8.00pm when some of Britain’s very best illuminated GoldWings from as far afield as Scotland, Cornwall and all regions in between take part.

Large crowds of holidaymaker's, day visitors and residents turn up specifically to watch the evening parade which lasts about 40 minutes as it travels along Scarborough’s promenades.

The main gathering points for spectators are at the Lifeboat Station, Foreshore Road, Sandside, with additional large groups gathering along Marine Drive and Royal Albert Drive. We know from past experience that this GoldWing Light and Sound parade will create a dazzling spectacle with an electric atmosphere suitable for all the family.

Visitors should note that closer to the date, this website will be publishing details of any parade route changes due to prospective works along the north bay in 2012.  The West Pier Car Park has been reserved until 9.00pm as a possible mustering point for the evening parade.

Some riders will be wearing fancy dress on a variety of themes as the general idea is to turn the parade a carnival atmosphere with loud music playing from the bikes' sound systems, sirens and horns sounding and decorated bikes where possible.

At the end of the parade some of the best illuminated bikes and trikes will return to the Lifeboat House in Foreshore Road for about 15 minutes so that spectators can take photographs.

This short video by Martin the Minder sums up the parade perfectly
